Stay Safe from Scams and Fraud

General guidelines to help you spot and prevent scams or fraud.

Suspicious links
If anyone sends you a link that may be suspicious, especially when dealing with car part sales online, be cautious and do not click it! Scammers often create fake websites or phishing links to steal personal information or money. Always verify the link by checking for spelling mistakes or unusual domain extensions, and avoid clicking on links from unknown sources. Instead, type the website address directly into your browser. Ensure the site uses secure payment options and look for reviews or customer feedback to confirm its legitimacy before proceeding with any transaction.

Injector Scam
A current car injector scam involves an individual reselling broken injectors that have only been cleaned but remain faulty. This scam targets people looking for affordable injector replacements. The scammer, using unemployed individuals, primarily women, as intermediaries, requires customers to trade their broken injectors and pay cash for supposedly refurbished ones. However, the injectors you receive don’t work, and your broken ones will be cleaned and resold to the next unsuspecting buyer. To avoid this scam, always verify the reputation of sellers and avoid deals that require cash-only payments or injector exchanges.
